Seminyak: North of Legian is quieter and a bit more isolated from the hustle and bustle of Kuta. The golden sand beaches of this area are also famous for its sunsets. But the surf can be very dangerous with strong currents on some tides.

Jimbaran: Just beyond the airport and south of Kuta, Jimbaran Bay offers the perfect picture of a golden sand beach and the blue Indian Ocean. Jimbaran itself is a busy fishing village and known for the small, unique fish restaurants on the beach.

Ubud: The culture center of Bali, surrounded by rivers and rice fields, has always attracted many artists and still remains as a gathering area for all artists. Their work can be admired in the numerous museums like Neka, Arma, Rudana and innumerable galleries. Ubud is also famous for traditional Gamelan music as well as a great diversity of traditional dances. Because of its geographic location 300m above sea level, Ubud is cooler than the coastal areas.

Sanur:
For those coming to Bali for sand, sea and sun Sanur represents the ideal alternative to bustling Kuta and the more expensive Nusa Dua area. It stretches along a wide beach which is sheltered by a reef. At low tide it can be difficult to go for a swim. You need to walk in shallow water over the rocks and coral to reach the water but at high tide it is fine.

East Bali: The eastern part of Bali, which is dominated by the mighty holy mountain called “Gunung Agung”, has some spectacular scenery with superbly sculpted rice terraces, beautiful bays and attractive coast line.

North Bali: A region of geographical superlatives – wild mountains, lots of waterfalls and lakes mixed with marvelous rice terraces looking down on endless black sand beaches. North Bali also provides an interesting contrast to the south of the island.

West Bali:  Offers long stretches of black sand beaches and the huge Taman Negara National Park which is the home of the rare and endangered Bali Starling – Bali’s only endemic bird. Within the National Park area is also the island of Menjangan that offers excellent scuba diving and snorkeling
